In this work, a novel method to evaluate the nonlinear bearing forces is introduced. The depends on using polynomial surface fitting as function of journal center position. Then, these are used investigate stability and bifurcations an elastic rotor-bearing model. Hopf bifurcation analysis limit cycle continuation investigated proposed for obtaining un-grooved with L/D = 0.5. results compared short approximation at several shaft flexibilities. addition, present obtained threshold speed that computed coefficients method. time response numerical solution Reynolds equation good agreement recorded.
